When The Galileo Open Air Cinema revved up their engines and introduced The Galileo Drive-In as a solution to a safe, social-distancing friendly event, Mother City movie-goers delighted in the nostalgic opportunity and pulled up to experience their favourite movies from the safety and comfort of their own vehicles.
What was meant to be a temporary offering has now permanently secured its spot on The Galileo’s summer schedule with a special two week-long comeback, including a Post-Valentine’s-themed week from February 18 – 21 . Thereafter, The Galileo Drive-In will wow audiences across the city, from Constantia to Rondebosch – every Friday evening.
Delicious pizzas, popcorn, and other movie-worthy snacks are available to pre-order with your tickets and conveniently available for collection as you drive into the venue – no need to even step out of your vehicle! Window washing and pre-planned parking are just some of the small touches that The Galileo team are doing to ensure fantastic viewing for all attending. Audio is transmitted via radio frequency and can be picked up through your car tuner or portable radio, which you can also rent on location if you’d like.
