The Long March to Freedom exhibit has come to Cape Town! Residents can now visit Century City to view the tribute to some of the most iconic African and international struggle icons.

The monumental procession currently features 100 life-size bronze statues of some of the most prominent South African and international historical figures and is the largest exhibition of its kind anywhere in the world.

The procession tracks four centuries of South Africa’s history as well as general world history and was created to redress historical imbalances that still exist today. Going all the way back to the 1700s, historical figures like Nelson Mandela, Cissie Gool, Samora Machel, and Helen Suzman all form part of the exhibit.

“It is a great honor to call Century City the new home of The Long March to Freedom statues,” said Chris Blackshaw, CEO of Century City Property Owners’ Association.  “We are able to give this exhibition exceptional prominence along the N1, opposite entrance 4 of Canal Walk. Together with our existing natural heritage site, Intaka Island, we are very excited to contribute so richly to the education of our children in the Western Cape.”

Tickets to visit the exhibit may be purchased on Computicket. Tickets cost R75 per adult, R50 per child between the ages of 2-16, and R50 for pensioners. Children under two may enter for free.
