Two Cape Town students from the Claremont School Of Rock, Shandy Sarantos and Rosie Bruce, accomplished the highest level of achievement, both being chosen to be part of the international AllStar programme. The prestigious programme selects less than 1% of the 35 000 global students to participate.

Shandy, a guitarist, joined the School Of Rock in August 2015 and impressed the school with her natural ability. She has since grown into a well-rounded guitarist. Rosie, a vocalist, joined the School Of Rock over a year ago but is already known for her positivity, commitment and being a real team player.

The AllStar programme helps 175 of the young aspiring musicians chosen as participants to gain skills and perfect their craft. Students on the programme are introduced to a world full of music experience and hard work; they have the opportunity to perform in front of live audiences, tour to different rock venues, learn new songs, and practice with and perform in a live band. In other words, the participants get a taste of life as a musician.

All 175 selected AllStars will end their 10-day tour with a final performance at a big music event.

Both Rosie and Shandy will perform in the School of Rock Claremont show – Twenty One Pilots vs Imagine Dragons Season Show at the Barnyard Theatre on Saturday, June 8 2019.

Watch out for Rosie and Shandy as they show the world what Capetonian musos can do.
