When Spring rears her beautiful head in the Cape, so does the legendary tablecloth that drapes over the Mother City’s most treasured landmark.

Table Mountain’s white cloth is iconic and has been the inspiration for many folklore tales.

Ancient San people beloved the cloth was an ”animal skin” of the Mantis God who was smothering out a blaze at the top of the natural wonder.

Another myth passed down through generations, is that the clouds are actually plumes of smoke, created by devil and local pirate Van Hunks during a dueling smoking contest.

In reality, this beautiful marvel is the result of lifting air being forced upwards by the topography of the area as the south-easterly wind blows up the mountain slopes.

No matter your beliefs, one simply cannot deny the breathtaking sight. The cloud only appears during Spring and Summer and eludes visitors during the colder months of the year. Pictures of the cloud falling off the mountain are share far and wide, we collected a few for you…

(Day 103) ? Don’t let anyone convince you that you dream too big, that it’s impossible to achieve it. NO DREAM IS TOO BIG. Do you think we would have half of what we have now in the world if the people who did it believed that they were dreaming too big? I’m sure we wouldn’t. Our “idols” are just normal people that got out of their comfort zone and kept trying to achieve their dreams. GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE AND ADMIRE YOURSELF, BECOME YOUR OWN IDOL! You just gotta keep trying, harder and harder, and believe from the very bottom of your soul (for real, this part is really important!) that your dreams will come true. ?? . (Dia 103) ? ?? . . *special thanks to @headstandphotography for the edit idea* . . #TableMountain #CapeTown #WesternCape #Africa #Travelers #TravelGirl #TravelShotz #Nomad #DigitalNomad #NikonShotz_ #TravelPhotography #TravelDiary #Ftwwne #Wanderlust #DestinationHunting #WomenTravel #TheTravelWomen #GlobeTrotter #AdvancedSelfieChallenge #SasaricandoPorCapeTown
