Table Mountain National Park recently spotted an ostrich in Cape Point patrolling the empty road for any outlaws. The flightless bird is also the world’s largest, and is a force to be reckoned with.
What they lack in flying skills, the make up for in running. Ostriches are the fastest runner of any bird and can sprint at up to 70 km/hr.
This giant is also the only bird to have two toes. They pack a fierce kick and fight using their feet, which also has an extremely sharp nail that can inflict a horrendous wound.
While humans are under lockdown, Table Mountain National Park rangers can rest assured that their honorary patrol member has got things covered.
