During the COVID-19 pandemic, every bit helps. People across the world have lost their jobs and it is now more important than ever to lend a helping hand.
Fan-favourite pizza spot Massimo’s in Hout Bay is giving back with their charity based virtual pay it forward pizza campaign, which they have been running for years. Diners have the option of purchasing virtual slices of pizza and for every six slices sold, the restaurant delivers an entire pizza to a local charity or organisation.
The campaign has benefitted a number of organisations and people based in the Hout Bay area, including the Fire & Police service, victims of fire/flood/storms, Hout Bay Snipers Basketball Club, Kronendal Music Academy, Amoyo Performing Arts Foundation, James House, Hout Bay CARES, Little Angels crèche in Hangberg, and any other deserving organisation, group or individual that finds themselves in need.
Many have supported this campaign over the years, and a recent patron was clearly feeling extra generous. On Monday [October 26], one patron added a whopping R4000 to their bill to go toward a charity in need.
Taking to Instagram, Massimo’s shared an image of the pay slip.
“Sometime we get a reminder that ‘angels’ exist…” they wrote. ” 400 #payitforward slices means we have 66 more pizzas to donate!!! grazie ? . we really have great clients”
