No one has been able to claim the Powerball’s six winning numbers in an astounding 24 draws, resulting in a recording breaking Powerball Jackpot of R225-million up for grabs today.
The National lottery operator, Ithuba says that someone is yet to claim the whopping R225-million.
“This means that for the past 24 draws, no player has been able to play the correct combination of the 5 PowerBall numbers; plus the powerball, in order to win the jackpot prize.”
The previous jackpot took place on February 15 2019 and offered a R210-million prize which went unclaimed.
Ithuba said that although there was no overall winner, a few lucky individuals walked away with a large sum of money from the last Powerball.
“Meanwhile, three lucky players won the second division of the PowerBall jackpot and each walked away with R481, 856.20.”
The 225-million Powerball draw will take place on February 19 2019 and will be showcased at 9pm on eTV.
“If the estimated R225 Million jackpot is won on Tuesday 19 February, the winner or winners would be expected to never again worry about paying for basic bills such as groceries and fuel,” said the National lottery company.
The previous highest lottery jackpot to be won in South Africa was R145-million and was claimed from a man in Mpumalanga in 2018.
Corporate Relations Executive at Ithuba, Khensani Mabuza says that winners are given guidance from the organisation.
“We pay special attention to our jackpot winners and ensure that they receive the best financial advice that we have to offer, so that they can turn their winnings into a lifetime of wealth.”
