#HighburyHearsYou – we at Cape Town Etc are passionate about getting local restaurants back and booming in business. As part of our #HighburyHearsYou initiative, we’re dishing out the deets on some incredible restaurants in and around town.

Gabrielskloof wine estate produces only the finest wines that reflect complexity, richness and diversity, according to their philosophy. The wine farm’s goal is to create and make its wines while emphasising environmental consciousness.

The wine estate has three ranges that make up its portfolio, the Gabrielskloof Range, Landscape Series and Projects Range.

The Gabrielskloof Range focuses mainly on the wine estates vineyards and is accessible once released. The Landscape Series showcases their top vineyard sites with some of South Africa’s best old vines and the Project Range allows the winemakers to experiment with diverse fermentation and ageing methods.

But what about the restaurant?

The lovely Gabrielskloof restaurant is open for brekkie and lunch seven days a week and is owned and run by Frans and Mariaan Groenewald who are known for their hearty, soul food. Their produce is sourced from neighbouring farms and villages. Local really is lekker.

The menu changes according to season, while the in house deli stocks charcuterie, pastries and a number of curated, quality produce from the farm and other surrounding areas. Yum!

Bookings are advised: [email protected]

The wine tasting room is open for wine tastings and sales from Monday – Fridays, 10am – 5pm and on Saturdays 11am – 3pm. No bookings are required.
