#HighburyHearsYou – we at Cape Town Etc are passionate about getting local restaurants back and booming in business. As part of our #HighburyHearsYou initiative, we’re dishing out the deets on some incredible restaurants in and around town.

Anatoli is one of Cape Town’s oldest eateries. Built 120 years ago in 1904, the picturesque Victorian coach house that Anatoli calls home soon became part of the De Waterkant neighbourhood’s rich and diverse cultural history.

Recently, it received a makeover that will will make you fall in love all over again. The restaurant  has delved into Mediterranean flavours, and features a new vegan tasting menu that can be enjoyed on Napier Street in the bustling Green Point area.

The menu is thoughtfully tailored by Chef Jacques du Toit, a master at bringing out the best in fresh ingredients, along with an authentic Mediterranean profile.

Anatoli is a casual and lively – a hearty atmosphere serving generous portions of jam-packet yum. Their menu includes all the classics; from mezze to confit lamb. Orzo salad, flame-grilled baby chicken, fresh fish, and fillet steak have us salivating too.

Delicious desserts of baklava, orange milk tart, chocolate fondant with orange ice cream, white chocolate cheesecake, and rose panacotta, are all beautifully crafted and presented. A solid wine list, Turkish cocktails and coffee, and apple tea will be the perfect accompaniment to any meal.

The new Vegan Tasting Menu has been launched, and offers three courses at just R195:

  • Two mezze’s out of a choice of 12 Vegan options, with half a flatbread
  • Main course: choice of Briami vegetable casserole, vegetable Moussaka, vegetables in Korma sauce with sambals, and wild mushroom and barley risotto.
  • Dessert: choice of Chia, coconut and blueberry dessert; Chocolate mousse with a difference; Trio of Vegan ice creams and sorbets.
