#HighburyHearsYou – we at Cape Town Etc are passionate about getting local restaurants back and booming in business. As part of our #HighburyHearsYou initiative, we’re dishing out the deets on some incredible restaurants in and around town.

Food, glorious food. In having to round up my favourite spots around town, I was spoilt for choice. Every meal, drink and in-between sit-down is an extended and fun-filled affair for me. But, if I have to choose at a moment’s notice here’s where I would go.

Favourite breakfast spot: News Cafe, Table View

I mean, who doesn’t want to be staring at the ocean while sipping on a cappuccino and enjoying a hearty brekkie? I love all breakfasts equally but their Eggs Benedict is a solid go-to.

Favourite lunch spot: Tashas Cafe, Constantia

Tashas absolutely wows me every time I go there. Absolutely everything is fresh and bursting with flavour! I am a total sucker for any pasta they care to whip up.

Favourite dinner: Old Town Italy, Constantia

Now we’re talking. Give me Italian, any day of the week. And don’t try to feed me anything but pizza while you’re at it. Old Town Italy does it best.

Favourite sweet spot: Ou Meul Bakery, Pinelands

The sweet things in life are what makes the world go round for me. Heard of elevensies? How about afternoon tea? All of those are to be accompanied by warm scones or a generous slice of cake, and at Ou Meul for sure.

Favourite drinking spot: Olive Bistro, Durbanville

Vibey atmosphere? Of course. Great variety? You got it. Beautiful setting? Say no more! The Olive Bistro is the one place I know I’ll always leave happy. I especially enjoy their refreshing Gs&Ts.

The great escape: Kloovenburg Wine & Olive Estate, Riebeeck Kasteel

Wood-fired pizza, freshly baked bread and of course everything olive: olive oil, olive jam, tapenades, dipping oils, olives in oil and dressings. These are all scrumptious but we all know why I really go there: This farm produces some of the best wine in the country.
