#HighburyHearsYou – we at Cape Town etc are passionate about getting local restaurants back and booming in business. As part of our #HighburyHearsYou initiative, we’re dishing out the deets on some incredible restaurants in and around town.
Scrumptious, delicious and mouth-watering – that’s how Cape {town} Etc’s news goddess, Betha Madhomu likes her food. She takes you through some of her favourite restaurants in town that always leave her in full satisfaction, from the quality of food to the service.
Breakfast: Caffe Villagio, Milnerton
What a great way to start my day, particularly on a relaxed weekend when I’m not at work. I am a great fan of well-done omelettes, and Caffe Villagio always satiates my cravings in a very big way. They have quite a range of these, but my favourite is the delectable cheese and mushroom omelette, which they serve with toast and a crispy garden salad. I then wash it all down with a freshly made double shot cappuccino. That really makes a great breakfast for me!
Love a good #omelette? Visit Caffe Villagio for your #breakfast fix! And we serve it all day 🙂 Check out our full breakfast menu here ?

Lunch: Truth Coffee, Cape Town
This is definitely one of my favourite restaurants, what, with its unique and inimitable way of presenting food. “Artisanal Roastery, world-class café, steampunk inspired,” that’s how they describe themselves.
Their smoked salmon and cream croissant always makes me drool on the mouth. I enjoy this with an icy cold orange juice.
By the way, I like light meals during the day.
Deciding what to do for lunch? Come and join us Monday to Sunday, We recommend our Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese…

Dinner: Pahari Africa restaurant, Salt River
This restaurant has never disappointed me. They serve authentic African cuisines that almost always leave me yearning for more. They present a unique African dining experience right in the heart of Cape Town.
Their exceptional and exclusive menu ranges from mopane worms, which one can have as a full meal or as a snack on the side – to fully fledged meals that leave one gratified.
Sadza (pap) ne Guru (tripe) ?

I’ve always enjoyed their pap and tripe, served with African green vegetables. Sometimes I swap the tripe with ox trotters, and oh my word, what a way to end my day, especially after a long busy one at work.
Zondo – ox trotters. ?

Favourite sweet spot: Karibu Restaurant, V&A Waterfront
Indeed life without chocolate is like a day without sunshine! Karibu is the gateway of Africa. Set between the picturesque view of Table Mountain and the tranquil blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Karibu affords one the opportunity to experience the vibrant flavours of South Africa. Their sweet dishes are incomparable. I particularly enjoy their fluffy and moist chocolate cake.
Life without Chocolate, is like a day without Sunshine…
@Karibu there will always be Chocolate ?❤️??

The great escape: Reuben’s Restaurant & Bar, Franschhoek
I’m really craving for that comforting, warm and delicious butter chicken curry, and I know Reuben’s Restaurant & Bar is where I will be heading to this weekend. They have a variety of dishes that are served in a vibey environment – just what I like.
