Step into winter and make your way to Nederburg’s The Manor in Paarl for laid-back wining and dining in a breath-taking setting overlooking lush vineyards and the majestic Drakenstein Mountains.

New winter tastes:

The Manor is now serving an exciting new winter menu of tasty breakfasts, lunches, shared feasts and picnics. Conjured up by chef Jerry Kennedy and his team to showcase the best of local seasonal ingredients, the new menu is set to surprise and delight guests with a delicious new culinary experience. What’s more, it reflects tastes that perfectly match Nederburg’s extensive range of award-winning wines.

Winter breakfast options include classic Eggs Benedict and a chef’s choice featuring popular farmhouse classics; as well as Shakshuka with naan and fresh coriander; muesli, yoghurt and fresh winter fruits; and French toast served with crème fraiche, berry compote, preserved fig and crispy bacon.

Or start your afternoon with light meals such as cured tuna with corn salsa, pickled baby onions, soya & balsamic glaze; fried artichokes, spiced carrot purée, confit cherry tomato and glazed rainbow carrots; as well as oysters served the classic way.

Sounds delicious, doesn’t it? Now wait for the mains… Expect a medley of diverse and robust flavours with mouth-watering dishes like sous vide line fish with scored squid tubes, cauliflower florets, smoked spring onions and lemon butter sauce; oven-roasted beef fillet with baby vegetables, smoked potato purée and jus.

Or a chilli-glazed pork belly, layered potato, gratinated parmesan apple & rooibos sauce; Nederburg Baronne spiced lamb burger with crispy bacon, brie cheese and guacamole; halloumi and sundried tomato polenta with deep-fried baby vegetables, spiced tomato sauce and balsamic glaze; and buttermilk-fried chicken burger with peppadew salsa.

Side dishes are plentiful! Choose between creamy spinach & feta, cinnamon and honey-glazed pumpkin wedges; oven-baked spuds with whipped crème fraiche; chef’s garden salad; samp and beans; and buttered green beans; among others.

End your meal with your choice from a menu of delectable sweet desserts such as dark chocolate fondant with beetroot ice cream and a brandy snap; a trio of tarts with pecan, seasonal fruit & crème patisserie, and hertzoggie; or delicate marble cheesecake with Nederburg Cabernet Sauvignon coulis.

Or try Nederburg’s famous noble late harvest with a bite of your favourite cheese, dressed to impress. Choose between gorgonzola, melba and freshly cut fruit; a brie wedge preserved green fig and toasted ciabatta bread; matured Boerenkaas (farmhouse cheese), citrus marmalade and sesame lavash; or semi-hard Gruyere, spiced pineapple and a cracker.

The restaurant also offers scrumptious cheese and charcuterie boards, cheesy nachos, marinated olives, and duck spring rolls, available all day, as well as a daily cake of the day with a cup of coffee served up whichever way you prefer.
