#HighburyHearsYou – we at Cape Town Etc are passionate about getting local restaurants back and booming in business. As part of our #HighburyHearsYou initiative, we’re dishing out the deets on some incredible restaurants in and around town.

Food is happiness, comfort and for some, can create a memory that lasts a lifetime. Food and I are like two peas in a pod, says Cape {town} Etc content creator, Leigh-Ann Londt. “Anything I come across, I’m like get in my tummy right now.” There are, however, a few special spots that keep Leigh coming back for her favourites time and time again.

Favourite breakfast spot: The Eatery Woodfired Grill, Kenilworth

The most important meal of the day. Mouth-watering meals and a good old, warm cuppa – yes, please! I can never decide between the Wakey Wakey and full-on Wood-fired Grill breakfast. Eggs, grilled bacon, sourdough, boerewors, oh so yummy.

Favourite lunch spot: Primi, Camps Bay

Nothing like a beach view and a fresh ocean breeze to enjoy a delightful meal at Primi. My top dishes are the Recco Classico (a curry-infused Napoletana pasta) and their prego chicken. Simply to die for.

Favourite dinner: Wharfside Grill, Hout Bay

One of the best seaside restaurants in the Cape – hand’s down. The inside of the restaurant makes you feel like you are physically on a ship with its authentic marine decor. My favourite dishes fish and chips, of course, or prawns and chips. Always fresh and backed with flavour. Classic Cape Town deliciousness.

Favourite sweet spot: Limnos Cafe, Canal Walk

This little café, like the iconic 7de Laan’s Oppiekoffie, has so many sweet treats to indulge in. From cakes, tarts, and ice cream to the worlds best Bar One milkshake. This is by far the best place to grab a sweet treat.

Favourite drinking spot: Banana Jam Cafe, Kenilworth

This Caribbean themed gem is always a vibe. From good service to out-of-this-world cocktails and shots. This is the best place to be for a night out with my girls. Their strawberry daiquiri is the bomb.

The great escape: The West Coast Diner, Langebaan

Langebaan is one of my top favourite locations to go to and clear my mind from everyday life. My top favourite dishes are the prawn and avo wrap with salad and the west coast diner hake and chips speciality.
