#HighburyHearsYou – we at Cape Town Etc are passionate about getting local restaurants back and booming in business. As part of our #HighburyHearsYou initiative, we’re dishing out the deets on some incredible restaurants in and around town.
No one does a Saturday night quite like Café Caprice – we know this first hand after the past weekend. Wondering if lockdown left Beach Dive’s vibiest spot a little rusty? Worry no more – a good groove is served steaming hot, alongside divine food and a world-class view.
Sitting pretty on the sexiest strip in town, Café Caprice serves its surrounding environment well. Described as a “landmark destination,” this local and international favourite didn’t disappoint.

The boutique bar and restaurant is anything but quaint when measured according to ambience and atmosphere. The grandeur of the location in itself is symbiotic with the establishment as a whole. Food, drinks, decor, and a resident sunset DJ all collide to create an explosive experience.

Dazzling ocean views are matched with killer cocktails and cold brews suited to every palate and preference. The food? Diverse and divine. Think prawn pasta, cooked wonderfully al dente in a light white wine, garlic and chilli sauce, classic nachos that don’t skimp on the cheese, and melt-in-the-mouth rump steak, accompanied by a perfectly balanced béarnaise.

Our experience at Café Caprice this past Saturday could best be described as sexy. We certainly left feeling a lot cooler than we did upon arrival. Will we back? Absolutely.
