The Lighthouse is a favourite amongst Blouberg locals, although no one ever says: “let’s head to the Lighthouse.” Instead, it’s affectionately called Blue Peter, after the hotel that this bustling restaurant and bar is attached to. Located a few metres away from the ocean, the fish is fresh, and the beer is cold. While they do serve incredible seafood dishes, it’s their famous pizza that you have to try. Sit back, relax and sip your drink on the lush lawn as enjoy another epic Cape Town sunset.

  • Location: The Blue Peter Hotel, 8 Popham Road, Blouberg

Pakalolo

Come rain or shine; Pakalolo is always packed. This small bar is located a hop, skip, and jump from the beach, offering incredible sunsets to pair with your drink. They have affordable drinks and food, but it’s the atmosphere that ensures this beach bar is always buzzing.

  • Location: 14 Beach Blvd, Table View

On the Rocks:

Nestled along the beachfront, On the Rocks offers mind-blowing views of Table Mountain and an assortment of drinks to choose from. With nearly 56 years of experience under their belts, you’ll certainly get your money’s worth. Enjoy a full-bodied red wine or an ice-cold beer as you watch the sunset behind the horizon.

This little seaside spot is right on the beach, so it’s perfect for a late afternoon lunch or early dinner. It also has an extensive outside area and drinks menu, making it the perfect sundowner spot. It’s pet-friendly and boasts a family-friendly atmosphere, making it a great space to head to after a brisk walk on the beach.

  • Location: 18 Generaal Jansen Road, Bloubergstrand.

Saints Burger Joint:

You can find this rowdy burger joint along the Eden on the Bay promenade. Don’t let the title fool you; Saints is more than just an average burger joint. Burgers and beer are their specialities, and depending on the night, patrons are treated to live music too. Enjoy the strums of a guitar as you sip on your ice-cold beer.

  • Location: Shop 57C, Eden on the Bay, Cnr Big Bay Boulevard, Big Bay
