#HighburyHearsYou – we at Cape Town Etc are passionate about getting local restaurants back and booming in business. As part of our #HighburyHearsYou initiative, we’re dishing out the deets on some incredible restaurants in and around town.

Winter is just around the corner, which means it’s almost curry season! Luckily for us, Cape Town is home to some of the best curry spots in the entire country, outside of Durban of course. We have gathered a few of our favourite locations that specialise in serving up the heat:

With more than twenty years in the hospitality industry, Yindee’s restaurant prides itself on serving some of the finest authentic Thai cuisine in Cape Town. Their food is lovingly crafted to take your senses on a journey through the mystical and exotic flavours of Thailand. The restaurant is decorated with artefacts and artworks from Thailand, creating an atmosphere that is classical, comfortable and relaxed.

The recipes used in the creation of the menu are rooted in family secrets passed down from generation to generation. Taste, colour and texture combine to take you on a culinary “tour de force”. In traditional Thai fashion, Yindee’s encourages all diners to share their meals amongst one another, thereby treating themselves to a variety of different and exciting flavours.

Working with Chef Nate Coe, Liam Tomlin has built a contemporary Indian restaurant around the concept of ‘thali’. Served over three courses, their meals begin with milder flavours and work towards hotter curry stylings. Thali also features a vegetarian Tapas for one or two menus, as well as a vegan menu.

Cocktails served at Thali are artfully created and change regularly with the seasons. A well-curated selection of whiskeys, gins and South African wines are also on offer as well as their signature Indian spiced chai
