The Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS) encourages all blood donors to share their heart this month of love by donating blood and saving up to three lives.
During the month of February and while stocks last, each donor who successfully donates a unit of blood will receive two blood donor button badges. Wear your badge with pride showing everyone that you have shared your heart. Give the second badge to a friend or stranger, challenging them to donate blood and wear their badge with pride.
Take a picture of yourself donating blood and tag us, @thewcbs on Facebook or Instagram. You could stand a chance to win a WCBS picnic hamper to share with your loved one.
Be on the lookout for WCBS’s #ShareYourHeartWCBS branded photo frame to take a special photo at selected blood donation clinics. They have also launched their very own WCBS profile photo frame on Facebook. Please use this frame to show your support.
If you are between the ages of 16 and 75, weigh 50kg or more, are healthy on the day of donation and lead a safe sexual lifestyle, you should be able to donate. Blood donation takes 30 minutes of your time and you can donate every 56 days.
Donors can rest assured that it is safe to donate blood and that all COVID-19 safety protocols are in place. To find your closest blood donation clinic please download the WCBS app on Android and iOS, send us a WhatsApp on 060 549 7244 or visit our website on www.wcbs.org.za.
