The usually bustling streets of Simon’s Town that attract tourists from far and wide and pull in locals from across Cape Town are a ghostly vision of their former selves.

During his walk to the shops, local Jonathan Lee snapped a number of pictures showing just how bare the breezy town has become.

“Took some snaps along the way to capture and to remember the historical lockdown period. Hope you all enjoy and hope we can return to normality soon.” he said while sharing his pictures on Facebook.

Jonathan’s pictures show vacant streets, parking lots, harbours and shop fronts.

It is a strange thing to see popular destinations like Simon’s Town without a person in sight, but this is the reality of the coronavirus lockdown:
