We’re all suckers for a gorgeous sunset, but sometimes the night sky offers us a treat too. Capetonians were treated to a nighttime spectacle on April 26, as the first supermoon of the year made its appearance.

The Super Pink Moon was the biggest and brightest full moon of the year. This brilliant moon is affectionately termed the “Pink Moon,” but that doesn’t mean we got to see it shine pink. The name comes from a pink spring flower that’s found in North America.
