Table Mountain has just received the incredible news of another nomination in the World Travel Awards – this time, to be ranked as the best tourist attraction in the entire world. This comes just a year after it won the award for leading African attraction.
“While we are waiting for the announcement of the leading tourist attraction in Africa for 2020, we have heard that we are now also nominated in the global category of the Awards. This is an incredible honour and the timing could not have been better. October marks the 91st anniversary since operations started at the Cableway Company,” says Wahida Parker, Managing Director of Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC).
The winners of the Africa region in the World Travel Awards will be announced on November 9, and Table Mountain is contesting this award with five African giants in the attractions industry – Mountain Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt and two of the fellow Cape Town Big Six attractions; Robben Island and the V&A Waterfront.
The World Travel Awards celebrates excellence in the tourism and hospitality industries. The winners are determined by a voting process and will be announced in November.
Table Mountain can’t do it alone – it needs your help.
“The team at the TMACC are calling on all South Africans to cast their vote in support of our New7Wonder of Nature in the World Travel Awards. Every vote in these illustrious awards counts,” Parker says.
Voting for the World category closes at midnight on October 25. To vote for Table Mountain, visit www.worldtravelawards.com/vote.
