For the first time, Tintswalo Atlantic is introducing a brand-new lunch experience that will be available to members of the public who are not guests of the boutique beach lodge. The Where else in the World Wednesday Lunch (WWW Lunch) can be booked in advance and only has capacity for a limited amount of visitors.
Since the Tintswalo Atlantic relaunched in October 2019, their resident guests have been the centre of their attention and they are aiming to provide an exclusive lodge experience for their visitors. Thus, the WWW lunch is the only chance for non-residents to indulge in a meal at the renowned hotel.
Lunches will be a laid back events where guests can relax and enjoy the magnificent food and views. Promising not only good food in the form of a four course meal, the WWW Lunch is sure to be a multi-sensory experience. Visitors will be seated on the wooden deck, where they can enjoy the fresh sea breeze against their skin and smell the ocean at the shoreline.
Diners may expect wholesome and fresh, seasonal cuisine and honest, uncomplicated seaside fare prepared by Head Chef Thando Jaxa. After a welcome drink, the first course will be served from the barbeque station – a traditional braai experience to kick start lunch. Next to follow will be a Tapas Platter that will include Seared Tuna with Sesame, Honey & Soy Dressing and Mange Tout & Sweet Corn Salsa, and more. Main course options include freshly caught Atlantic Yellow Tail with Carrot & Ginger or Chimichurri Gnocchi and Sautéed Fennel, amongst other options. Finally, as lunch ends, guests will be served with traditional Malva Pudding with Malva Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream. This is followed by tea/coffee and friandise of Banoffee Bites or Hazelnut Truffles.
The cuisine is complemented with a wine list that includes some of South Africa’s best vintages, including top quality local wines from Hout Bay, Constantia and Cape Point wineries.
Before departing, guests have the opportunity to participate in a special Tintswalo Atlantic farewell custom that was started by the owners of Tintswalo.
Destined to be one of the most sought-after culinary encounters in Cape Town, the 4-course Tintswalo WWW lunch experience is available every Wednesday at R960 per person.
