After the Mother City received bountiful showers this week, even more downpours are on the way for the Western Cape in the coming week, starting this Sunday. With this, Cape Town’s dams are in for even more water.
Sunday will usher in three days of chilly weather and downpours across the province, with highs of 15°C and lows of 12°C along with showers throughout the day. These conditions will continue into Tuesday which has more rains forecast for the day, as well as highs of 15°C and lows of 11°C.
Dam levels are looking good ahead of the extra rains with two dams being more 100% full and three others more than 70% full.
Overall dam storage is at a yearly high of 72.5% as of July 30 and this is expected to increase even further after today and tomorrow’s rains.
As the downpours continue Capetonians are staying cosy inside and feeling grateful.
