The Mother City’s warmer weather of late has been harsh for locals and predictions say the heat is far from over with more high temperatures expected in the coming days.
Locals and visitors to the city and the Western Cape must brace themselves ahead of forecasts predicting some seriously hot weather for another full week until next Tuesday.
Various provinces across the country have already experienced temperatures this month that have broken records and the heat has definitely affected dam levels.
The SPCA has also issued a extreme heat warning, asking pet owners to be aware of their animals during this time and report any wandering dogs or cats in need of assistance.

Scorching temperatures will only ease up from tomorrow and are expected to pick up again on Saturday.
Vredendal recorded it’s highest minimum temperature yet this October on Monday night. While residents tossed and turned, the thermometer stayed at 28.7ºC, beating the previous record of 27.5ºC set in 1985.
Locals are encouraged to be aware of the hot days ahead and maybe even cool off in some of Cape Town’s inner city pools or with a comforting ice cream in hand at the Mother City’s ice cream spots.
