After a week without rain, the Mother City will once again welcome rainy weather this weekend and hopefully with it, fuller dams. Those spending their weekend in Cape Town should prepare for a rainy Sunday bringing scattered showers and highs of 16°C and lows of 11°C.
Monday will not bring rain but on Tuesday we can expected downpours with highs of 14°C and lows of 9°C.
Ahead of the anticipated precipitation, dam levels are looking the best they have in years. As of August 21, both the Berg River and Steenbras Lower dams are over the 100% mark with Steenbras Upper close behind at 97.9%.
Overall, Cape Town dam water levels are at 81.7% and expected to rise following Sunday’s rains.
While the province experienced some warmer weather this week the dams were still thriving and have been throughout August:
