It was a busy Mandela Day in the Mother City. In the spirit of one of Africa’s greatest heroes, many Capetonians went to work for their 67 minutes today supporting causes close to their hearts and helping those in need.

Cape Town was filled with kindness and love as eager locals rose to the occasion and helped make a difference.

The Cape Town City FC spent their day at Langa Cheshire home uplifting others.

Metrorail unveiled a new installation by BazArt at the Cape Town train station consisting of 76 portraits to honour inspiring changemakers in Cape Town.

Charity organization HOPE Cape Town braved the terrible weather to serve the community of Blikkiesdorp in the Cape Flats.

Capetonians out there who didn’t get the chance to do anything today need not worry as they can still take part in a beach cleanup this Saturday.
