Celebrating its 24th year, the Cape Town Homemakers Expo will take place from August 29 to September 1 at the CTICC. This year, visitors will be able to see, touch and feel the very latest in home, décor, design, and lifestyle trends, as well as some new and exciting designs for your furry friends.

Be treated to a comprehensive display of the top brands and local craftsmanship, all under one roof. Show highlights include interior spaces, d’vine life, truly Artisan, OUTside, Tuis Theatre, the concrete workshop, the AV Emporium, as well as The Kitchen.

The expo, in association with Hill’s Pet Nutrition and Domestic Animal Rescue Group (DARG), have launched a design, art and textile design ComPETition, benefitting pets less fortunate, and are rewarding local designers with over R50 000 in prize money. This ComPETition is all about bespoke pet furniture such as designer beds, cat perches, multi-functional furniture and flat-packs for pet travel, to name a few. Artists and designers will be given a basic wooden bed to create a one-of-a-kind design.

Judged by an independent panel, the winners will walk away with a cash prize of R10 000, with second place receiving R5 000 and third R3 000, totalling a whopping R54 000 in prize monies. Expo visitors will be invited to bid on their favourite design or artwork for their furry friend, with funds raised going to DARG. Furthermore, a Hill’s team of experts will be on hand during the Expo to offer pet related advice.

The closing date for competition entries is Friday, June 14 2019 and successful entrants will be notified telephonically or in writing. Visit https://www.homemakersonline.co.za/expo/cape-town-homemakers-expo-and-hills-design-art-and-textile-competitions/ for more details on how to enter.

Tickets are available at the door or from Quicket (http://www.quicket.co.za). Adults pay R90, pensioners R70, and kids under 16 enter free. The Expo will be open Thursday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm, and on Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
