Treat yourself to an elegant day out at the Hillcrest Quarry with some delectable oysters, a wide selection of bubbles and wine, great music, celebrity chef demonstrations, and an upmarket selection of foods. The Oysters Bubbles and Blanc festival is taking place on April 27 2019.

Formally known as the Oyster and Champagne festival, which was created in 2007, this popular festival has grown to be bigger and better with the inclusion of a few local Sauvignon Blanc brands. The event will also feature a top range of South African Cap Classique and Sparkling Wines. Special brands from France, Italy, and Spain will also be on offer.

Guests can expect an abundance of oysters, fresh in from the West Coast, especially cultivated and harvested for the festival. There’s no right way to eat an oyster they say, but those who have an acquired taste for it believe it is best to pick up the shell and slurp down the oyster from the wide end. You can of course also bite into it, but only once or twice is recommended. When you`re done, it is etiquette to flip the shell over and admire its unique shape and pattern.

Co-Organiser, Liezel Coetzee, and her team are very excited to be part of this event for the first time. They are working on making this year’s festival one for the books by featuring more bubbly brands and the addition of the fabulous blanc wines.

The dress code is white and gold, adding a gracious flair to the day. Fabulous prizes will be given away to the best dressed, as well as some fun spot prizes.

Guests are invited to join in on a spectacular day – a feast for the tastebuds and senses, a day of enjoying and getting to know a variety of Bubbles and Blanc brands.

Each ticket includes five free tastings, more tasting can be purchased at the event.
