Warm up this winter with red wine and wholesome, delicious food at the first of three Red Wine Rendezvous at Steenberg’s popular, Bistro Sixteen82, in Constantia, on Thursday May 30.
Chef Kerry Kilpin has prepared a hearty three-course dinner to be savoured with a variety of Steenberg red wines.
For starters there is creamy corn and coriander soup, onion crisps, served with crusty homemade bread, and spicy humus. For the main course, a rich and hearty slow braised pork belly served with broccoli and roast garlic risotto, lemon jus, sweet glazed carrots, toasted sunflower seeds, and pan-fried vegetables. The dark chocolate nemesis of Caramélia mousse, white chocolate crémeux, bitter chocolate, cocoa crunch and crème fraîche ice cream will be served up for dessert.
