The weekend is approaching and sock specialists Falke and outdoor adventure experts Dirtopia have once again partnered to bring you two sunset hikes this coming weekend on February 8 and 9.
The spectacular sunset over Table Mountain and a view of the Winelands makes the hike to the top of Klapmutskop a wonderful adventure!
Starting from the Dirtopia Trail Centre, it will take approximately 90min to reach the top. To ensure you have the full experience it is recommended to arrive at 5pm and not start the climb later than 6.30pm. The sunsets at 7.46pm with the moonrise at 7.29pm on Saturday evening. On Sunday evening the sunsets at 8.45pm with the full moon, moonrise at 8.16pm. Optional shuttle service is available to transport children and elderly hikers to the start of the shorter 4,5km route from the famous Pepper Tree.
The cost for the Falke Full Moon Hike at Delvera is R120 for adults and R60 for children under the age of 10 and includes shuttles, permits and a map. Klapmutskop is part of Simonsberg Conservancy and part of the permit goes towards this non-profit organisation. For this reason, no dogs are allowed.
Torches (which also for sale at Trail Centre) and something warm to wear are recommended for the walk down. Please remember this is a hike so, for your convenience and safety, it is recommended that you wear hiking appropriate shoes.
