Enjoy summer with free live music concerts from 7pm on Saturday evenings at the V&A Waterfront’s Amphitheatre from October 2019 to January 2020 Saturday.

The lineup:

The Pedestrians: October 12.

In 2019, the all-male group performed at well-known festivals such as the Heart Festival, Huawei K-Day and the Cape Town International Jazz Festival alongside music guru Craig Lucas.

Mitchell’s Plain Music Academy: November 9.

Established in 2014, Mitchell’s Plain Music Academy is comprised purely of students, ranging from beginners, intermediate and advanced musicians. The academy has since become home to 170 students.

 JPson: November 16.

JPson will be firing up the stage with his original assortment of Fresh Folk that will get you moving to the beat. Having taught himself guitar on the shores of Cape Town, JPson spent his younger days surfing and exploring the musical territory of Folk & Roots music.

School of Rock: November 23

School of Rock is a music school with 200 affiliate schools around the globe and over 30 000 students. The students range from toddlers to adults, allowing them to grow into authentic musicians.

The Pebble Shakers: December 21

The group of talented jazz musicians will pay tribute to Swing legends such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Benny Goodman on Saturday, 21 December.

 Mandisi Dyantyis: December 28

Mandisi played the trumpet from the age of eight and studied Classical music throughout his school career. He achieved a BMus Honours Degree in Jazz Studies at the University Of Cape Town in 2005. Mandisi has since shared the stage with artists such as Jimmy Dludlu, The Abdullah Ibrahim Big Band and Robbie Jansen to name a few.

Los Tacos:  18 January 18, 2020

Formed in 2011, the sultry male and female band started out by learning a few Latino cover songs and haven’t stopped playing since. Their debut album is set for release early next year.
