Both films, set on the Camino de Santiago in Spain, will be re-screened on May 4 and 5 in aid of StreetSmart SA. Walking the Camino will be shown at 13.45pm on Saturday, May 4, followed by The Way at 4pm on Sunday, May 5 2019.
StreetSmart SA is an organisation dedicated towards helping street children rebuild their lives through public donations with the support of a network of establishments throughout the Western Cape and Gauteng. It is a registered Public Benefit Organisation as well as a Non-Profit Organisation and funds are primarily raised by participating restaurants, accommodation establishments, and wine tasting centres, adding a voluntary R5 donation to the bill.
Every cent raised in this way goes towards social and educational upliftment projects for street children. The organisation was set up by a group of concerned Capetonians under the patronage of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu and comprises resourceful board members representing business and the hospitality and tourism industries.
Tickets, per show, cost R40 per person and are available from the Labia Theatre by calling 021 424 5927. Booking is essential.
