Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts presents Shortstraw and Bam Bam Brown live at their beautiful gardens. Both bands will be taking the stage on Sunday March 24, from 5.15pm to 7pm.
After a much needed break, Shortstraw are excited to return this year for a select number of shows. With a number one album to their name, nominations for both a South African Music Award as well as an MTV Africa Music Award, a string of top five singles on national radio charts and other local music award wins, the group has established themselves as one of the biggest bands in South Africa.
Shortstraw, with their catchy melodies and infectious rhythms, has taken pleasure in rocking the most prominent live music festivals, venues and clubs in the South Africa and abroad, including successful tours to Europe, Australia and Japan. This IndieRock band is guaranteed to get the crowd off their feet and dancing.
From Mumbai to Maboneng, from Berlin’s hustle and bustle to Lesotho’s vast and silent mountainous grip, the trail that Bam Bam Brown is blazing is surely one carved by Kieron Brown’s own unique, fiery young hands.
Bam Bam Brown has played every major festival in South Africa and now will bring their eclectic sound of Afro-Folk-Rock, and its electric live performance to Kirstenbosch.
Gates to the concert area open at 4pm. All concerts take place irrespective of rain. Regret no refunds are issued. Please note that www.webtickets.co.za is the only online ticketing partner. Tickets to the event are R190. Youth between the ages of 6-21 get access for R150 (with ID). Entry is free for those under six years old.
Guests may bring in their own food and refreshments, including alcohol. It is kindly requested that everyone take their empty containers back home to throw away as Kirstenbosch is a bin-free Heritage site.
