The family of Mr Naidoo has shared the details of his medical report. The report indicated that he passed away as a result of a heart attack, which took place over the period of 3 minutes.
Reports have further indicated that Mr Naidoo was found in a good condition, with a slight smile on his face. The estimated time of death is 5pm Saturday, 16 November.
Further, no bodily harm was reported.
His family concluded their comment, saying ‘we are at peace knowing that he left this world doing what he loved – walking the mountain.’ Mr Naidoo was found at a beautiful look out point, close to a tree.
Update, 21 November, 6am
The body of Dhananjaya Naidoo was found late afternoon on Wednesday, 20 November. He had been found on the Countour Path in the Newlands Forest where he had gone walking and had already passed on.
The family has since extended their gratitude for those who volunteered to search the mountain and offered support.
Meanwhile, police have confirmed that the body has been recovered.
‘An inquest was registered for further investigation,’ said SAPS spokesperson, Wesley Twigg, ‘A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.’
Update, 20 November 4pm:
The search for the retired teacher has reportedly been called and further information has not yet been revealed.

Dhananjaya Naidoo (66) was last seen leaving his home for a walk in Newlands Forest, a popular nature area in Cape Town.
Reports indicate that Naidoo’s vehicle was discovered on Sunday in the Newlands Forest parking area, but there has been no sign of him since. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing blue jeans, a blue checked shirt, and a grey cap.
