The province’s total number of COVID-19 infections has now reached 277 147 confirmed cases and 262 937 recoveries. This is a 94.87 percent recovery rate. The Western Cape has 2881 active cases of COVID-19 as of 1pm on Thursday, March 4.
A total of 21 400 out of the 25 960 vaccines received to date, as part of the Sisonke trial, had been administered by 5pm on 10 March, reports Premier Alan Winde.
Here is a breakdown of the province’s COVID-19 numbers:
- Total confirmed COVID-19 cases: 277 147
- Total recoveries: 262 937
- Vaccines administered: 21 400
- Total deaths: 11 329
- Total active cases (currently infected patients): 2881
- Tests conducted: 1 364 890
- Hospitalisations: 1041
- ICU or high care: 217
