South African rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes has finally broken his silence regarding the tragic death of his fiance, Anele ‘Neli’ Tembe. Tembe, lost her life after she fell from the tenth floor of the Pepper Club Hotel in Cape Town on Sunday, April 11. The couple got engaged in February 2021 and started lobola negotiations shortly before Nelli’s death. In a statement, the “All Eyes on Me” hitmaker described the pain of losing the love of his life as a “mountain to climb”.
“I miss Anele, so much and I’m heartbroken at the unfulfilled life we had planned together,” the statement said.

However, the circumstances surrounding Neli’s death still remains a mystery as the word ‘suicide’ has been mentioned on numerous occasions. The South African reported that Nelli’s father, Moses Tembe, wrote a letter that was read out loud at the 22-year-old’s memorial service on April 16 2021. The reading of that letter indicated that she was not suicidal nor did she commit suicide.
He said his daughter’s wish was to fall in love and marry the man who would become the father of her children. He added that they differed on the direction she should take in her life but he stood by her nonetheless. Families and friends of Nelli laid her to rest in Durban on Friday, April 16. Meanwhile, the rapper has also thanked his fan base (MEGACY) for the love over the past few weeks and said he has found comfort in it.
