Golden Arrow says it is offering a R200 000 reward for information regarding arson attacks on its buses in Cape Town.
According to IOL, this follows a recent attack on one of its buses.
The transport company had 14 of its buses set alight last year.
Golden Arrow spokesperson Bronwen Dyke-Beyer said a new bus costs about R2.5 million.
“We are on the ground 24/7, but the scale of these actions and the speed with which groups of people move or appear in new locations makes it very difficult. The bus that was set alight last week was an ambush, so there was no way we could have known it was going to happen.
A Golden Arrow bus was recently torched in Mfuleni, during service delivery protests.
Protesters used burning tyres to block main thoroughfares and stoned vehicles, News24 reported.
