Severe weather conditions in the greater Cape Town area and parts of the Western Cape on Monday, June 28, has caused an increase in electrical faults, Eskom confirmed.

In a statement by the power utility, Eskom indicated that bad weather may put the network at risk and can potentially cause electricity outages.

“These conditions also affect restoration efforts of technical teams out in the field,” Eskom said.

Eskom also urged customers to download the Eskom app to log any electricity outages which can take up to 24 hours to be attended to.
