Earlier this week CNN released a top 10 list lauding towns, villages and neighbourhoods that stand out globally in terms of architecture.

Our very own colourful Bo-Kaap made the cut, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Alberobello in Italy and Japan’s Shirakawa-go and Gokayama, all of which are Unesco World Heritage Sites.

Though it noted the historical architecture, most of which hasn’t been changed since the Dutch East India Company’s time at the Cape, CNN seemed particularly taken with the bright colours of this neighbourhood, and the tradition of repainting the centuries-old homes every year around Eid al-Fitr.

The Bo Kaap is absolutely stunning! Once again testament to how awesome Camissa is.
