An unidentified body was found in the Milnerton lagoon on Tuesday afternoon.
Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the unknown male that was found in the lagoon, police spokesperson Lieutenant Andre Traut told IOL.

According to the City of Cape Town, the body was recovered by South African Police Service divers.
The victim is suspected to have drowned and a death inquest case docket has been registered to ensure the cause is identified.
No additional information regarding the latest Milnerton Lagoon incident is available at this time but investigation processes are well underway.
Dangers of the lagoon
Over the past few years, several incidents have occurred in the lagoon raising concerns due to possible rip tide risks.
In 2017, two people were saved from drowning in the lagoon while one of the rescuers died during the incident.
Two men swam out to aid two women in the water and during the rescue attempt, Jerome Booysen, (one of the rescuers) found himself in distress and was swept away by a strong rip current.
Jerome’s friend and the two women were recovered by a surfer, however, Booysen body was never found.
In a separate incident in 2016, a body of a male was found in the lagoon after being declared missing and is suspected that he had drowned.
