A wildfire broke out yesterday above Victoria Drive on the 12 Apostles. The fire has broken out again today, 12 October. Strong winds are encouraging flames. Firemen are at the scene.

Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS) and other emergency services were at the scene shortly after it was spotted by passersby. By late afternoon a large part of central Cape Town and the southern suburbs were clouded in smoke, with an immense plume visible above Table Mountain.

Yesterday morning crews were still on-site monitoring flare-ups.
