A Cape Town-based attorney has been released on R10 000 bail along with strict conditions following serious rape allegations made against him.

According to News 24, National Prosecuting Authority’s (NPA) regional spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila, confirmed that the attorney’s case was postponed to July 15 pending further investigation.

Ntabazalila said the attorney’s bail conditions include that he cannot enter the Muizenberg area and must hand over his passport and notify the investigating officer if he intends to travel outside of the city.

The 36-year-old man, who faces charges of sexual grooming of three minors, was arrested three weeks ago after three children reported him to the police.

He allegedly let the children perform sexual acts on him in return for money and other rewards.

The accused appeared in the Muizenberg Magistrate’s Court for his formal bail application on Friday, June 4.
