An overview of the latest dam levels have been released by the City of Cape Town, this is how we’re faring.
The city and surrounds received a generous amount of rainfall early last week. Some suburbs recorded 25mm over the course of two days – some much-needed respite from the ongoing drought, but despite this, collective dam levels still dipped by 0.1%, bringing them to a total of 36.1%.
Meanwhile, the higher Western Cape peaks received an unusual dusting of November snowfall last week. Conditions have been favourable for snow at least three times this month, with the Matroosberg Private Nature Reserve issuing a statement that it was the first time in “many years” that it has snowed so frequently in November. Snow-capped peaks could be seen as close to Cape Town as Worcester on Wednesday morning.
