The trailer for a new documentary called WaterWise, created by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco), has finally been released. The documentary showcases areas around the world that are at the forefront of drought experiences, including Cape Town.
The informative production shines light on the water struggle the world is currently facing, focusing on a number of cities and countries that have learnt the value of water and reexamined how they use it after experiencing severe drought periods.
The documentary, Waterwise, how not to drain a country, touches on the different water situations around the world and what we can learn from them as communities and individuals.
SOSNPO, a South African water NPO, has joined as one of the directors for the groundbreaking documentary. The NPO aims to improve water equity within communities while primarily focusing on sanitation and hygiene in schools by providing sustainable water solutions through partnerships with businesses and other organisations.
The filming of the documentary gave Capetonians the chance to share their opinions and experiences on the topic of drought and the value of water and educates the audience on the dire situation our world is dealing with, from local struggles to international ones.
