Cape Town lawyer Leon Nortier was reportedly shot and killed at his home in Table View on Friday evening, July 9 as IOL reports.
According to police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk, the shooting occurred in Heron Road in the suburb north of the Cape Town CBD, News 24 states.
A 60-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the shooting and her identity was supposed to be made public today at the Cape Town Magistrate’s court, however, the case has been rolled over.
Her attorney, Leon van der Merwe, expressed that “she has no previous convictions and has never been arrested before… this is also definitely not related to domestic violence. I wouldn’t want to further discuss the merits of this case” and confirmed that woman was being held at Table View police station.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila, the case has been rolled over to Tuesday so that “the accused could be examined by a district surgeon,” as per News24.
The circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation at the time of this article’s writing.
