Police in Cape Town have a heavy task at hand following several shooting incidents around the Mother City over the weekend.

In Seawinds, close to Muizenberg, a man has been shot and killed while seated in his car on Saturday, June 26. According to police spokesperson, Joseph Swartbooi unknown suspects fired numerous shots at a vehicle that was parked in St Patricks Street in Seawinds.

Joseph’s indicated that the 37-year-old man was declared dead on the scene by medical personnel. No arrest have been made yet.

In another incident, two people were found dead inside their home in Wesbank on Saturday, June 26. The case has been handed over to Mfuleni police detectives as no arrests have been made at this stage, EWN reported.

Meanwhile, police have also launched a 72-Hour Activation plan after the bodies of three men were discovered, each with one gunshot wound to the head, in Samora Machel on Saturday, June 26.

The shooting comes on days after eight people were shot and killed in the NY 79 area of Gugulethu on Wednesday, June 23.
