Next week, the City of Cape Town will be presenting a new strategy to reduce the city’s congested roads. The strategy proposes carpooling, the use of public transport and improved access to these facilities, parking incentives and… flexible working hours for Cape businesses.
Mayco member for Transport Brett Heron says the strategy will look at how the city can influence the use of the road network and the travelling times of people, one of which is for city businesses to consider flexible working hours and compressed work weeks. About R750 million has been set aside to address the infrastructure problems for the next five years.
