For many of us, the Festive season is about giving and sharing love, food and gifts. However, there are also many who do not have the means to truly celebrate this season. This year, Ladles of Love is hosting their annual Christmas Lunch for Cape Town’s homeless to spread the festive spirit.
Ladles of Love have been hosting weekly soup kitchens for years. Their annual Christmas Lunch for the homeless, held on December 8 this year, is a more special version, with delicious food and gift giving.
“We host this annual Christmas lunch where we serve a seated meal to our homeless guests,” says Ladles of Love founder, Danny Diliberto. “This one is really special. Along with a delicious meal of roast chicken, veggies and potatoes we will also serve juice and a delicious dessert. Every guest also receives a gift and will enjoy service from our volunteers, accompanied by live music.”
Ladles of love is calling on volunteers to help give those in need a memorable Christmas. Volunteers should arrive at 7.30am on the corner of St Georges Mall and Church Street to help set up the area where guests will be treated to great food, live music and gifts for all.
