Following an extremely disappointing amount of rainfall over April and May, and the Western Cape experiencing the worst drought and water shortage in over a century, the City of Cape Town has confirmed today that our dam levels will last until August at the current level of consumption.

It is important to note that any significant rainfall will change this prediction, but there remains to be great uncertainty from weather experts about rainfall for the months of June and July. With the region having been declared a disaster zone this week, we can only hope that rain is on the way.
“We are being told that we should’ve had a lot more rain in this season already”, said Opportunities and Agriculture MEC Alan Winde to News24.
