If your vehicle license expired in March 2018, you will face penalties if it is not renewed before 23 April 2018. The City of Cape Town has called on all motorists to double check the expiration date and not rely on motor vehicle renewal notices for March 2018, because the Western Cape Government have not been printed and posted by the Road Traffic Management Corporation.
In a statement the City urged motorists to double check their licence discs as this affects motorists whose licences expired on 31 March 2018.
“It would seem that the renewal notices for April 2018, which pertains to discs that will expire on 30 April 2018 and which are payable on or before 22 May 2018, have been printed and are currently being posted.
“Although this situation is outside of our control, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience. We advise that it is possible that the licence renewal process may take a few minutes longer due to the renewal notices not having been sent,” the City said.
