A Clicks store in Witbank has allegedly been petrol bombed amid threats of a shutdown and mass protest from the Economic Freedom Front (EFF). The protest action follows after social media backlash over an advertisement Clicks posted to their website brandishing black, natural hair, as ‘dry and damaged’.
On Sunday, September 6 the EFF issued demands that Clicks release the names of all companies, Clicks managers, directors and employees involved in making the advertisement and dismiss them with immediate effect. They threatened to shut down all Clicks stores until demands were met.
